The Tell Us Bus Leaves Liverpool...

Posted: 2 yearss ago

Hello from the Tell Us Bus! Well, we're on the road to Newcastle now after a fantastic week in Yorkshire and Liverpool. A big thank you to Lippy People who did a brill job in Yorkshire, accesssing well over 150 young people all the way from aged 7 to aged 19, quite a task! And I'm so sad to be leaving behind the lovely Young Facilitators from Liverpool who have worked tirelessly in some very challenging situations this week. Here is a picture of our Young Facilitators, Alex and Joe at the St John's Youth Centre in Toxteth. Young people from the centre had made a huge poster to advertise the bus visit and as you can see, the boys fiund some time to chill out on the pool table in between their sessions!

Hey, I’m Beth. Recently I have been working as a Co-Facilitator alongside with the people of the Tell Us workshop. I have thoroughly enjoyed being on the Tell Us Bus. I have learnt some new skills, whilst being a part of the Workshop, mostly being in charge of the Activities held in the Bus, and being able to talk to youths in a Professional way, listening to many people thoughts and taking into account that many feel that there should be more to take part in. I feel we’ve received a positive attitude from the people we’ve invited inside the Bus, and we’ve taken in a great deal of information and opinions to help make Cultural Activities the best and suited for all youths in the UK. Even though we’ve finished touring on the Bus, I’ve enjoyed working with the people from Tell Us, and Find Your Talent. I now have a better view on everyday Cultural needs. Tell Us Bus was a great success and I’d love to be able to work more on this Workshop, it’s been one of a kind and the best to have been a part of.

Hiya, Im Lena and Ive been a co-facilitator on the tell us bus, it has been good to hear about what cultural activities young people want to get involve in. I am 15 myself so it is good to know that whatever was expressed and said is going to the government to help young people get more involved in cultural activities. Its been really fun with the schools, youth centers and especially the other facilitators! Its really interesting to do something like this and I cant wait to see what the government will do in the future to help young people. Its been really fun and now it’s the end im really sad, Nobody wants to go!

Hello my name is Alex.

I am working as a young facilitator. I am 16 and my experience on the bus has been a blast, I have had a great time meeting new people like the people I have been working with and the people I have met in the process. I have learnt new skills that I would never think I would ever learn, for example learning how to communicate with young people in a professional manor. Though the time on the bus I feel I have received a lot of confidence and experience for later on in life. I think this project has been a successes and I think it is a great idea to get young people involved in cultural activities.

Hello,

I’m Kate and I have been facilitating activities on the Tell Us Bus. The whole Bus experience has been brilliant and there have been so many interesting young people involved. The variety of interests and experiences of the young people has been really beneficial to the activities because we have received a wide range of information about what young people want and why they want it. I have had such a good time listening to these views and also just getting to know all the other facilitators and the staff from CCE and Find Your Talent. It feels as if the Tell Us Bus is on its way to achieving some really great things for young people.
